Presidents Letter

Greetings Members!

I trust this newsletter finds each of our esteemed MAA members embracing our spring season. With days already nearing the 70-degree mark, we can’t ask for a spring any better. As I pen my inaugural newsletter as your 2024 MAA President, I am once again filled with a great sense of gratitude and humility for the remarkable journey since becoming a MAA member. The membership and the great experiences that we share as MAA members, truly are the reason why we become members. I look forward as your president to continuing to serve you all and continuing the welcome feeling, that we all experience as a member of this great association.

I would like to extend my thanks to our hosts in Billings for the 2024 WYMT Auctioneers Convention. Rick Young & Sons and Musser Brothers joined forces to ensure its resounding success. A special thanks to the Young family for their exceptional efforts in working the auction competition flawlessly. Saturday night was a highlight, witnessing the induction of two members, Ed Hinton and Rick Young, into the MAA Hall of Fame. It’s always fun to see the raw emotion as inductees have their names announced. Their contributions to the auctioneering community are commendable, and they are most deserving of this honor. We were also pleased this year to host the kids auction, which surpassed expectations. We are keen to sustain this initiative and encourage all of you, to involve your children in future editions.

Looking ahead, I am thrilled to announce that, as a board, we have selected Great Falls as the venue for the 2025 Montana Auctioneers Convention. With two outstanding locations under consideration and enthusiastic members ready to host, anticipation is already building for what promises to be an exceptional event. Stay tuned for the exact location!

Here at MusserBros, we've had a busy spring and are looking forward to what summer holds. Prices have remained strong, though there seems to be a settling of the previous market fluctuations, bringing us to more stable pricing. Lately we've enjoyed the chance to work in some incredible Montana places. It's always a fantastic reminder of just how stunning our state truly is and how lucky we are to live and work in such a great state!

Thank you once again to all our valued members for being apart of this outstanding association. Your continued support and dedication are truly appreciated. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything we can help with. I hope you all a wonderful spring season!
