A highlight of the convention will be the Bid Call Championship Auction to be held Friday night at 6 p.m. The Contest will be held in conjunction with the Montana Winter Fair. The public is invited to attend and bid on various auction items being sold by the top auctioneers from Montana as they compete for the Title. The Championship Auction will be held at the Trade Center at the Central Montana Fairgrounds and there is no cost to attend. The contest consists of a Pro Division for experienced auctioneers, with prizes including a trophy buckle and the Del Strommen Memorial traveling trophy, and a Rookie Division, open to auctioneers with three years or less experience in the business. Contestants will be judged on several criteria, including their clarity of chant, speed, rhythm and timing, as well as their ability to catch bids and conduct themselves on the auction block. The auction will be broadcast via Icollector.com, with live video and audio feed as well as online bidding.
